Watch: Ratha Jatra being celebrated in Pakistan amid much fanfare

Bhubaneswar: Ratha Jatra (Chariot festival) of Lord Jagannath and his divine siblings is no more restricted to Odsha. The annual festival has even crossed the ‘Line of Control’ to reach neighboring country Pakistan.

A video of Ratha Jatra being celebrated in Pakistan is doing the rounds on social media. The event was organized by Pakistan New Veikunt Dham Bhakt Samaj(Gaudiya Math) amidst tight security.

A large number of people belonging to Hindu community attended the event, where the Trinity in the Mari Mata Temple at Rattan Talao on Akbar Road in Karachi were escorted out in a ‘Palinki’ and later taken in a colourful procession amidst sounds of cymbals and ‘Mridanga’. The devotees were also seen chanting ‘Hari Bol’ and ‘Jai Jagannath’ during the procession.

Tight security arrangements were also made to avoid any untoward incident and maintain law and order situation.
