Bhawanipatna: Revealing the sorry state of communication infrastructure in the state, an ailing woman was forced to be carried on a sling as the ambulance failed to reach the location due to lack of road connectivity in Madanpur Rampur block of Kalahandi district today.

Sources said the patient identified as Surati Nayak was carried on a sling for six kilometres by her family members from Badapadar to Marchajar Road before availing an ambulance to reach M Rampur Community Health Centre (CHC).
