Water levels stable in Odisha rivers despite rains

Bhubaneswar, Aug 12:

Water level of all major rivers in Odisha remained stable despite rain in the catchment areas today.

Flood Water Level While rainfall in Rushikulya catchments was 21 mm, it was 16.8 mm in Brahmani catchments, 13.7 mm in Bansadhara, 7.9 mm in upper catchments and 9.5 mm in lower catchments of Mahanadi, 8.8 mm in Budhabalanga and 6.7 mm in Subarnarekha catchments.

While water level of Mahanadi was receding at Khairmal and Naraj, it was stable at Tikarpada.

At Nimapara, the water level of Kushabhadra was on the rise.

Though the water level of Brahmani was on the rise at Panposh, it was stable at Rengali, Talcher and Jenapur.

The water level of Subararekha, stable at Jamshedpur and Rajghat,  was receding at Jamsolaghat.

On the other hand, there was little change in the water level of Budhabalanga which was rising at Balimundali and NH-5 at Govindpur and stable at Chandanpur and Baripada.

In South Odisha, there was little change in the water level of Bansadhara and Rushikulya rivers

While the water level of Bansadhara was stable at Gudari, Gunupur and Kashinagar, there was rising trend in the water level of Rushikulya at Purusottampur while it was stable at Sorada and Madhabarida.
