Weather alert! Heavy rain, thunderstorm in these Odisha districts till July 9

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain and thunderstorm warning have been issued for most parts of the State for today and next five days.

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, the north-south trough from northeast Bihar to south Interior Odisha now runs from northeast Bihar to south coastal Odisha across northeast Jharkhand & Gangetic West Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under influence of it, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over 7 districts of Odisha in next 24 hours.

The districts included Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi and Ganjam.

Similarly, thunderstorm may take place in 23 districts in next 24 hours. The districts are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur.

Besides, the Bhubaneswar MeT has issued yellow warning for several districts till July 9.

Yellow warning (valid from 8.30 AM of July 5 upto 8.30 AM of July 6)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal and Boudh.

Yellow warning (valid from 8.30 AM of July 6 upto 8.30 AM of July 7)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal and Angul.

Yellow warning (valid from 8.30 AM of July 7 upto 8.30 AM of July 8)

1.Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Deogarh and Sundargarh.

2.Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Bolangir, Sonepur and Sambalpur.

Yellow warning (valid from 8.30 AM of July 8 upto 8.30 AM of July 9)

1.Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Nuapada, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.

2.Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.
