Weather alert: Thunderstorm likely to lash these places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm today and tomorrow, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Jajpur today, the Meteorological Centre said.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Deogarh today, it said.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Bolangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal tomorrow, it added.

The agency further said that the depression has no direct impact over Odisha. However, due to upper air trough and prevailing wind pattern, thunderstorm activity with isolated heavy rain in some districts of Odisha is likely to occur.
