Weather alert: Thunderstorm warning issued for 24 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued thunderstorm warning for as many as 24 districts of Odisha.

The districts likely to be affected are Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda including Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack including Cuttack town, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Sonepur, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Balangir.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda including Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack including Cuttack town, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Sonepur, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Balangir till 9.45 pm,” a bulletin of the Meteorological Centre said.
