Welder stabbed to death in full public view in Odisha’s Balangir; 1 held

Bangomunda: Panic gripped Bhalumunda area Bangomunda police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district today after a man was murdered in broad daylight on NH-59. The police detained a youth for allegedly murdering the man who was a welder mechanic in Bhalumunda. The deceased was identified as Lalmohan Kaibarta (45) from Gondabahali village in Nuapada district.

As per reports, Lalmohan, a well known welder mechanic in Bhalumunda area, was working at a fabrication shop owned by one Purna Meher. Few months back, Lalmohan quit Purna’s shop and started working with another shop.

Today, when Lalmohan came face-to-face with Purna in Bhalumunda, both of them engaged in an argument over some past issues.

Eyewitnesses said suddenly Purna pulled out a sharp weapon and stabbed Lalmohan with it. The welder mechanic died on the spot.

After being informed, a team of police officials and scientific team reached the spot. The weapon used in the crime is yet to be recovered, a police official said.

While Lalmohan was working as a welder in Bhalumunda, his wife and children were staying in Raipur.
