Bhubaneswar: Due to Well-Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal with associated cyclonic circulation, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places in seven districts of Odisha during next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Orange Warning for the next two days and Yellow Warning for two days thereafter.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal & north Odisha moved northwestwards and lay centered at 0830 hours IST of today, the 1st October, 2023 over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. It is likely to move further northwestwards slowly during next 24 hours.”
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha and at many places over south Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 34.5oC was recorded at Jharsuguda and the lowest minimum temperature of 21.0oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.
