Western Odisha back in grip of heat wave

Bhubaneswar, June 7:

While most parts of western Odisha came under an intense heat wave today,it was again the high humidity factor that made the situation in the coastal region as bad if not worse.

While Titlagarh was the hottest place today with 44.5 degree Celsius, temperature went up to 40 degree or above in Angul (40.1), Jharsuguda (42.3), Sambalpur (44.2), Sundargarh (42), Hirakud (42.1), Talcher (40.8), Bhawanipatna (42.5), Bolangir (40.5), Phulbani (40), Titlagarh (44.5), Malkangiri (40.6) and Sonepur (42.8).

On the other hand, normal life in all coastal districts including the capital city was affected as the humidity level rose to a maximum average of 83 percent in these areas.

In a release this evening, the local Met office has predicted rain or thundershower and even nor’wester at one or two places in the state in the next 72 hours  i.e. until June 9 after which the state would receive increased rainfall in the next four days up to June 14
