WIPRO global head visits ITER in Odisha

Wipro Ltd looks for employees who have the right attitude and are willing to walk the extra mile, the company’s Global Head, Campus Hiring, Rajeev Kumar told students at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering in the SOA University in Odisha’s capital city here today.

“What is important in students is their inquisitiveness and resolve to try and do things in a better way,” he said delivering the pre-placement talk in the campus.

Kumar, who had a 90-minute interaction with the students and replied to their questions, said Wipro was a 7.95 billion dollar company with a 1.5 lakh workforce handling the requirements of 980 customers in 57 countries. It had been ranked as one of world’s most ethical companies and counted among 100 green companies.

“Information Technology has revolutionised everything; it is needed everywhere today. In the current age, since the invention of the printing machine and the steam engine, the creation of the worldwide web (www) was the biggest thing to happen. The IT industry revolves round the www,” he said.
