With nearly 300 fresh COVID-19 cases, Odisha’s active cases cross 2000-mark

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 daily tally again saw a spike of nearly 300 cases today with four districts reporting over 30 fresh cases.

In the last 24 hours, 297 fresh cases  have been reported from 24 districts taking the state’s total caseload to 3,40,917. Kalahandi district registered the highest spike of 57 cases followed by Sundargarh  (38), Khordha (33) and Nuapada (31).

Of the total fresh cases, 174 are quarantine cases while remaining 123 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

With this, the number of total active cases today crossed 2000-mark and stood at 2013. So far 3,36,930 patients have recovered from the disease .
