Woman bank staff attacked, robbed of Rs 1.1L in Odisha

Konark: Three armed miscreants looted over Rs 1 lakh from a woman bank employee after attacking her with a sharp weapon on Benipur-Gop road in Konark today. However, police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

Sources said one Sonali Behera, an employee of the Bandhan Bank, Gop branch, was going to the bank with her co-employee on a scooter after collecting money from a nearby village. The three miscreants came on a bike, intercepted them and hacked Sonali’s hand before decamping with Rs 1.10 lakh cash.

Sonali, who sustained injuries in the attack, was later admitted to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the incident.
