Woman CDPO caught red-handed taking bribe in Odisha

Bhawanipatna: Odisha Vigilance officials today arrested Jayanti Mohanty, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Koksara, Kalahandi for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 7000.

According to reports, Mohanty had demanded the amount from one Arati Dandasena, an Anganwadi Worker in Sunamal Centre of the district, for releasing the latter’s salary of three months.

Dandasena lodged a complaint in this regard with the anti-corruption agency, following which a trap was laid and the official was caught red-handed by Vigilance sleuths while accepting the money from the complainant.

The Koraput Division of the Vigilance has registered a case in this connection.
