Woman, infant burnt to death in Odisha, hubby detained

Nabarangpur: In a gruesome incident in tribal district Nabarangpur of Odisha, a woman and her 4-month-old baby girl were burnt to death allegedly by husband over family feud.

Police detained the accused husband identified as Tankadhar Bhatra for further interrogation in the case.

The incident occurred at Chirima village under Kodiami police limits in the district this morning.

According to preliminary investigation, the husband was suspected to have poured kerosene on bodies of his wife Nilabati Bhatra (22) and their 4-month-old daughter and set fire.

However, the cause behind the incident is yet to be revealed.
