Woman injured in elephant attack in Odisha’s Ganjam

Bhanjanagar: A woman was critically injured in an elephant attack at Narayanpalli village under Jagannathprasad forest range of Ganjam district this morning.

As per reports, the injured, Maya had gone to nearby Badapadia forest along with her daughter to collect mushroom. In the meantime, they encountered a pachyderm in the forest.

The elephant attacked the woman with its trunk. But the victim’s daughter somehow managed to escape from the spot and reached the village.

After being told about the incident, villagers went to the forest and rescued Maya in critical condition. She was admitted to the Bhanjanagar hospital for treatment.
