Woman killed, daughter raped in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A person and his associates allegedly crushed a woman to death with a pestle and raped her daughter at Talasitha village under Dhamnagar police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district late last night.

According to reports, one Babua Mohanty of the village and his aides entered into the house of the woman while her husband had gone to nearby Barikapur area for work.

They pestled the woman to death and allegedly raped her daughter, said Bhadrak SP Battula Gangadhar. Various samples have been collected from the spot and sent for examination, the police official said.

On the other hand, the deceased woman’s husband went missing after the tragic incident. It is suspected that he was kidnapped by the wrongdoers.

The incident was a fallout of past enmity, sources said. Police have started investigation into the incident.
