Woman Maoist killed in gunfight in Odisha, weapons seized

Phulbani: A woman Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces at Dadakanghia forest under Tumudibandha police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, informed ADG (Operations) RP Koche today.

During a joint combing operation by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF), a gunfight broke out between the security forces and the Maoists, during which the woman died and other ultras ran helter-skelter.

As many as four guns, three grenades and other weapons were seized from the spot. Till last reports came in, combing operation was underway in the area.
