Woman raped at gun point in city !

Bhubaneswar, Sept 11:

In a shocking incident , a 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped at gun point by in her house at Divya Vihar in Samnatraypur under Lingaraj Police limits here in the wee hours on Wednesday.

The victim, a resident of Khurda, was working as a domestic help in the area. Local reports said she made several attempts to file an FIR but the police allegedly refused to respond.

According to sources, an armed person entered her house at 3 am this morning and allegedly raped her at gun point. The miscreant choked her mouth and threatened her with dire consequences if she dared report the matter to the police.

The victim initially approached the Lingaraj Police to register her complaint but the officials at the police station refused to respond and instead advised her to go to the Mahila Police station, sources said.
