Woman raped, murdered in Odisha’s Balangir; naked body found

Balangir: A woman was suspectedly raped and murdered at Muribahal under Titlagarh police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district today. The lifeless body of the woman was found tied to a tree at a forest near Satabahani village in a naked state.

Till last reports came in, the identity of the deceased was yet to be established.

The body was initially spotted by locals at the forest this morning. On being informed by them, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Police suspect that the woman was forcibly brought to the place by a group of persons and later raped and murdered. Circumstantial evidences indicate the she was stabbed in chest with a knife leading to her death.
