Work for Hanspal flyover in Odisha capital to begin soon

Bhubaneswar: Construction work for a flyover at Hanspal in Odisha capital will begin soon as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated a tender in this regard.

The 5.5 km-long flyover will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 32 crore on an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) mode, the tender notice said.

While the completion period has been fixed at 18 months, the maintenance period is 60 months, the notice added.

“Long standing demand of the local residents of Hanspal is finally being met. A committee of residents has been formed to monitor timely completion of the project,” said Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi. Earlier in July, Sarangi had held a meeting with Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari over the flyover construction at Hanspal, which is an accident-prone spot.
