Yamini Sarangi takes over as Collector of Odisha’s Kandhamal district

Phulbani, May 1:

2008 batch IAS officer Yamini Sarangi took over as Collector of Odisha’s Kandhamal district today.

She took charge from additional collector Pradeep Kumar Sahani, who was temporarily looking after the duties of collector after the transfer of previous collector N Thirumala Nayak.

Sarangi met senior officials of the collectorate and many other officials who called on her on courtesy visits. She also visited various departments of the Kandhamal collectorate along with senior officials.

She was earlier the collector of Nabarangpur and Koraput. Notably, she happens to be the first ever female collector of Kandhamal district.

Sarangi, after finishing schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi, pursued BE in Civil Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering and worked for six years from 2002 to 2008 in the IT Sector – one year at Infosys and 5 years at SAP, Bangalore – before joining the IAS in 2008.
