Youth arrested for vandalizing Ganesh puja mandap in Odisha’s Cuttack

In a bizarre incident, a youth was arrested for allegedly vandalizing a Ganesh puja mandap at Murad Khan Patna in Jobra area of Odisha’s millennium city Cuttack today.

The arrested youth was identified as Balabhadra Nayak, a resident of Murad Khan Patna.

According to reports, Nayak stormed into the mandap while preparations were in full swing for the puja. He ransacked the mandap and allegedly beheaded the Ganesh idol.

On being informed, Malgodown police reached the spot and arrested Nayak. A pistol and a bullet were seized from his possession.

Sources said, the incident was an outcome of past enmity.
