Youth climbs atop electric tower at Odisha's Berhampur railway station

Berhampur: High drama unfolded at Berhampur railway station in Odisha this morning as a youth climbed on an electric tower and threatened of committing suicide.

Some passengers spotted the youth over the tower and informed Railways officials, who disconnected power supply in a bid to save him from coming in contact with the high tension wires.

Movement of several trains through the station got paralysed for around 2 hours due to the incident.

Later, normalcy returned as the youth, reportedly hailing from Assam and a mentally unstable person, was rescued by Fire personnel. He will be sent for medical examination for verification of his mental condition, an official said.
