Youth critical after mobile battery explodes in Odisha

Sambalpur: A youth sustained critical injuries after a mobile phone battery exploded today in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

The incident took place at Dangsanadihi village under Kuchinda police limits in the district.

According to police sources, Dusmant Kharsel, 18, was admitted to VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in the district. He sustained injuries in his hands.

The blast occurred when the youth was charging the mobile battery in his home. Luckily he has not received lethal injury in the blast, the sources said.
