Youth drowns in Brahmani river in Odisha

A youth of Patakhandi village under Bonai police station limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district drowned while taking bath at Lalei Ghat of Brahmani river this morning.

Sources said Ghesru Mahakud (20) and his younger brother had gone for a bath in Brahmani river at Lalei Ghat at around 11 AM.

While bathing, Ghesuru slipped into the deep waters and drowned.

Seeing this, his younger brother ran away to his house and informed his mother. Later the family members rushed to the spot and recovered the body after a frantic search.

Following information, Bonai police station rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem.

The body was later handed over to the family members, D Sahu, SI of Bonei Police station, said.
