Youth found murdered in Odisha capital identified

Bhubaneswar, June 27:

Commissionerate Police today identified the body and whereabouts of a youth who was found murdered by some criminals in the city late on Thursday night.

Mu.2After a thorough investigation lasting over 12 hours conducted by the Kharavela Nagar police along with the scientific team, the deceased was identified as Kabi Nayak (22), son of Bala Nayak of Badua under Buguda police limits in Ganjam districts.

According to police sources, at around 11 pm last night, Kharavela Nagar police had recovered the body of Nayak wrapped in a polythene bag below the Satyanagar overbridge under the same police limits here. Nayak’s body was chopped into five pieces using sharp weapons and put in a polythene bag at the spot.

Getting information from the locals, local police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent the body to the morgue house of the Capital Hospital here. After conducting an autopsy on the deceased body today, the report revealed that Nayak had been murdered, police said, adding, investigation is on to nab the culprits who had killed him so brutally using sharp weapons.

Police have registered a case no.- 181 in the incident slapping charges under section 201 and 302 of IPC.

The police also said the deceased was staying near Kadaligodam in Laxmisagar area and had several cases pending against him at various police stations in the city. Police suspects that some anti-socials might have killed Nayak over some old dispute or due to enmity with them over some issue.

Meanwhile, the Kharavela Nagar police have detained two persons for interrogation.
