Youth held for raping minor in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada/Cuttack: It seems incidents of minor girl rapes cases are on the rise in Odisha with every passing day. Two such cases were reported from different parts of the State today.

A youth was arrested on charges of raping a minor in Tarasingh police station limits in Mayurbhanj district. Sources said several cases have been pending against the arrested person, Sujan Mandal of Tarana village.

Based on a complaint lodged by the minor girl, police have initiated probe into the incident.

In another incident, a minor boy allegedly attempted to rape another minor girl in Badambadi area of Cuttack district.

The minor boy from Delang area in Puri district tried to rape the minor girl near Central Library in Khannagar. As soon as locals came to know about the matter, they nabbed the minor boy and handed him over to police. As per the latest reports, police were questioning the minor boy about the incident.
