Man shot dead in Odisha’s holy city Puri

Puri, June 6:

Panic gripped Puri, the pilgrim city of Odisha, after a man was shot dead in broad daylight by unidentified assailants this morning.

According to reports, the assailants opened five rounds of fire at the youth, identified as Purna Sahu (40) from point blank range, killing him on the spot.

The incident took place at Dubai Jaga near Shankaracharya Matha at Bali Sahi.

Following information, a team from Town Police station rushed to the spot.

While the exact cause of the murder was not immediately known, sources said the deceased had previous enmity with some youths.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants who fled the area after committing the crime.

Investigation is underway, the reports said.
