Youth shot dead in broad daylight in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A youth was shot dead by unidentified miscreants near Netal Chhak under Barang police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district in broad daylight this afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Ranjan Sahoo, an employee of Sri Sri University.

According to reports, two persons came on a motorcycle and opened fire three rounds of bullets at the victim. He sustained bullet injuries on his chest, belly and leg.

The youth was rescued by locals in a profusely bleeding state and admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The reason behind the firing is yet to be ascertained.

Police have started investigation into the incident.
