Youth shot dead in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara, Jan 24: Unidentified miscreants shot dead a youth on national highway no. 5 near Shyamsundarpur village today in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

The deceased youth has been identified as Bapi of Tikhiri under Marsaghai block in Kendrapara district.

Three miscreants fired at Bapi at around 12.10 PM while he was on his way to his rented house, eyewitnesses said. He was hit on head and legs and died on the spot, they added.

The deceased was a contractor and was staying with his family in a rented house at Santa Sahi locality in Kendrapara town.

Police suspects the murder could have taken place due to tender fixing.

“Some unknown miscreants have fired shots at him. He has sustained bullet injuries on his head. He hailed from Tikhiri. His name is Bapina. We are investigating the matter,” said a police official.
