1-YO-girl among 2 test positive for COVID-19 in Odisha

Jharsuguda: Two more persons, including a 1-year-old girl of Mangal Bazar in Jharsuguda tested positive for COVID-19 taking the total number of active cases in the district to three. Both the patients are asymptomatic, informed Collector.

In a tweet, Collector Saroj Kumar Samal said that the 1-year-old girl is of the same family, where a 5-year-old girl tested positive earlier yesterday. The family  is under home quarantine and constant vigilance. Besides, a 40-year-old male Maharashtra returnee has also tested positive for the virus. He has been quarantined at a TMC at DAV Publich School, Hill Top in Brajarajnagar, the Collector informed.

“There is nothing to worry about as both the patients are feeling well, isolated from others and under constant monitoring,” he added.

Following detection of the new cases, a very small part of Mangal Bazar and the TMC at DAV School, Hill Top, Brajarajnagar have been declared as containment zone. There may be a little inconvenience for few resident families of Mangal Bazar. However,  supply of essential commodities will continue, the Collector said.

“The containment at the TMC will pose no difficulty to public. Please stand by us in this critical period.Government  assures public health care in the district,” the Collector stated.
