1 youth dead, another critically injured in freak road mishap in Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Jharigaon: A youth was killed on the spot and another sustained grievous injuries as the motorcycle on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with another motorcycle near Kandhaguda Chhak under Jharigaon police limits in Nabarangpur district, today evening.

The deceased was identified as Ganapati Kalar (28) and the injured was identified as Jaladhar Kalar (30), both from Phupugaon locality in the district.

According to a source, Ganapati and Jaladhar were returning home from Kutubai of Dhamnaguda panchayat when they met with a fatal accident leading to death. Another motorcycle coming from the front hit them and they became critically injured. Ganapati had severe injuries on his head.

Some locals rescued Ganapati and Jaladhar and admitted them to a nearby health facility in Jharigaon for treatment, where doctors declared Ganapati as ‘brought dead’.

On being informed, Jharigaon police reached the spot and seized the motorcycles. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe, which is underway.
