Bhubaneswar, June 15:

Commissionerate Police in Odisha on Saturday arrested 12 fake candidates from Bihar, who appeared in an interview for recruitment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables, on behalf of the actual candidates.

According to sources in the Chandrasekharpur police station, these fake examinees were arrested during the final round of selection- the personal interview session - after their finger prints did not match with that of the original applicants for the posts.

After catching the impersonators red handed, the interview board interrogated them, only to realise they were smart enough to avoid detection in the earlier stages of the recruitment process.

Members of the interview board also got to know that they had taken part in first two stages of recruitment- written test conducted at Bhopal and physical test held at Kalinga Stadium in the city- in place of the original  candidates.

They were later handed over to the local police.

Police sources said they were inquiring into the possibility of some Railway officials helping these fake examinees to impersonate the original candidates.
