Bhubaneswar: As many as 10 employees of the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, which plays a major role in battle against COVID-19 in Odisha, have been infected with the coronavirus at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

In view of this, the department authorities have decided to conduct COVID-19 test on other employees today.

Reports said that 20 employees had undergone COVID-19 test after detection of a positive case in the department on August 1.

As per a reliable source, a finance official of the H&FW department had recently tested positive for the virus after he developed Corona symptoms last week. During the period, he had attended many meetings and several people had come in contact with him.

Following contact tracing, 20 employees of the department were asked to undergo COVID-19 test, of which 10 officials in the post of SO, ASO and Desk Officer were tested positive for COVID-19.
