10 Kalinga Sena members arrested for showing black flag to Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Aug 15:

Commissionerate Police today arrested 10 members of Kalinga Sena for staging a rally in front of State Secretariat here protesting against the Odisha Government’s failure in providing jobs to the youths and filling up vacant posts in several departments as it had assured before the election.

The members of the Kalinga Sena were arrested this morning for staging a protest rally and planning to show black flag during the arrival of Odisha’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s carcade at the Independence Day parade venue near Lower PMG here, said a senior police officer.

“We have kept the protestors in the Reserve police campus after arrest,” added the police officer.

According to Kalinga Sena sources, they were protesting against the State Government’s failure in keeping its words to employ around 40, 000 youths in different sectors as per its promise made before the election.

Further, there were 1.54 lakh posts lying vacant in the government sector but the government had done nothing to fill them up, the sources said demanding immediate fulfillment of the vacancies..
