10 Odisha districts to experience heat wave today

Bhubaneswar: At least 10 districts of Odisha are likely to experience heat wave conditions today, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

“Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, and Nayagarh during the next 24 hours,” the Meteorological Centre said.

Talcher recorded the highest temperature in the state by 8.30 am as mercury stood at 36°C.

Other cities/ towns recorded the following highest temperatures by 8.30 am.

– Talcher: 36°C
– Angul: 35°C
– Balasore: 35°C
– Bhubaneswar: 34.2°C
– Jagatsinghpur: 34°C
– Chandbali: 33.8°C
– Bhadrak: 33.7°C
– Bhawanipatna: 33.5°C
– Jharsuguda: 33.2°C
– Boudh: 33°C
– Baripada: 33°C
– Cuttack: 32.6°C
– Raurkela: 32.2°C
– Nayagarh: 32°C
– Kendrapara: 32°C

There will be gradual rise in temperature by 4-6°C during the next 4-5 days at many places over the district of Odisha, the Meteorological Centre had said yesterday.
