Bhubaneswar: As many as  108 more persons in the state tested positive for deadly coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the total count to 4163, said Health and Family Welfare Department today.

While 95 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, 13 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

Of the total fresh cases, 92 have been reported from 15 districts: Malkangiri (21), Keonjhar (5), Khordha(7), Kendrapada(9), Angul (1), Balasore (4), Cuttack (1), Jagatsinghpur (9), Ganjam (8), Puri  (15), Gajapati (7), Sundargarh ( 2), Kalahandi (1), Bargarh (1) and  Balangir (1). Remaining 16 cases are Odisha Fire Service personnel, who were  under quarantine, after their return from West Bengal following post cyclone restoration drive.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1295. While 2854 patients have recovered in the state so far, 10 persons succumbed to the virus.

Worth mentioning, the virus has spread to all the 30 districts in the state with Ganjam registering the highest 698 positive cases.
