11 cattle killed as traffickers overturn truck intentionally to escape in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: At least 11 cattle died and five others sustained critical injuries as a container truck carrying the animals turned turtle on NH-49 near Binjhabahal village under Telkoi police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, today.

Reportedly, the cattle were being trafficked in the vehicle this morning, during which some youths, on being informed about the offence, started chasing the truck.

As they tried to intercept the vehicle, the driver and traffickers overturned the vehicle intentionally on roadside. The accused then fled the spot.

On being informed, police reached the place, seized the vehicle and started an investigation into the incident.

The injured cattle were being treated by veterinarians.
