110-bed COVID-19 hospital becomes operational in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: In the fight against deadly COVID-19, the Odisha government today made another standalone COVID hospital operational in the State. In association with the IMS and SUM Hospital, the State government today set up a 110-bed COVID-19 hospital in Kendrapara district.

The new hospital came up at the Government Polytechnic at Chhata. It has 100 beds and 10 ICU beds. This apart, life-saving device and ventilators have been provided to the hospital.

While the State government funded the hospital, the SUM Hospital engaged its doctors, nurses and paramedical staff at the new COVID-19 hospital.

The SUM Hospital earlier set up a 525-bed COVID-19 hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Sources said the State government will make another COVID-19 hospital operational in Angul in association with SUM Hospital soon.

So far the government has established 21 dedicated COVID Hospitals in 19 districts.
