12-foot-long python slithers into SUV bonnet in Odisha’s Steel City; rescued

Bhubaneswar: A 12-foot-long python was reportedly rescued from the bonnet of an SUV in Odisha’s Rourkela city today.

The locals had spotted the snake in an uninhabited place at the Powerhouse Road in the Steel City several times in last two years, sources said.

“Some people spotted the python on a field at Powerhouse Road today morning. The snake later slithered into the bonnet of an SUV parked in the locality,” said a local.

On being informed by the locals, a snake rescuer reached the spot and rescued the python. The snake was later handed over to the Forest department, sources added.

“The python was in good health. We have released it to a nearby jungle,” said an official of the Forest department.
