12 hospitalised as van rams into tree in Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada: At least 12 persons were injured after a van they were travelling in hit a tree near Dhobagudi, 10 km away from Muniguda in Rayagada district late last night. All the injured were later admitted to hospital for treatment.

Sources said around 15 persons from Daringibadi area were travelling to Muniguda in the van last night. However, the driver lost control over the vehicle, following which it rammed into a tree and later fell into a nullah at around 1.20 AM.

On receiving information, fire brigade officials rushed to the spot at around 2 AM and rescued the passengers and admitted the 12 injured to Muniguda Community Health Centre (CHC). Among the 12, four critically-injured persons were shifted to Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

Meanwhile, police reached the accident site this morning and began investigation.
