Police have seized over Rs 12 lakh from the house of a dadan sardar (migrant workmen recruitment agent) in Odisha’s Bolangir district.
According to reports, acting on tip-off police raided the house of Khirasagar Bag, a dadan sardar at Tingra village under Saintala police station limits on Sunday night and seized Rs 12, 75,900.
Out of the seized money Rs 4.8 lakh is in newly released Rs 2,000 bills, reports added.
Reportedly, Bag was using locals to get demonetized notes exchanged for new Rs 2000 bills in different banks.
Bag, who managed to give the police a slip during the raid, is absconding.
