12 more steel companies to come up in Odisha: Minister

Bhubaneswar: Another 12 steel companies will be set up in Odisha, informed State Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Mallik here today.

Replying to a written query of BJD MLA Dhruba Charan Sahoo during Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly, the Minister informed the House that 12 new steel companies will come up in Odisha, of which 3 will be set up in Sundargarh district and 2 in Jajpur district. One each will be established in Angul, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Jagatsinghpur districts.

At present, there are 51 steel companies in the State with annual production capacity of 33.12 MT, Mallick said.
