Bhubaneswar: Despite rainfall activities being witnessed at some places in Odisha, at least twelve places in the State sizzled due to maximum (day) temperatures at 40 Degrees Celsius or above, today.
Bolangir town recorded the highest maximum temperature at 43 Degrees Celsius. It was followed by Nuapada (42.3), Boudh (41.8), Malkangiri (41.5), Jharsuguda (41.3), Sambalpur, and Bargarh each (40.8), Nayagarh (40.5), Talcher (40.2), Sonepur (40.1) and Khordha, and Sundargarh each (40.0).
The highest maximum temperature of 42.5°C was recorded yesterday at Boudh. The lowest minimum temperature of 22.0°C was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.
Temperature Forecast: A gradual rise in Maximum (day) temperature by 2°C to 3°C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days.
