12 places of Odisha record temperature above 40 degrees

Bhubaneswar: Scorching heat was experienced in most places of Odisha as 12 places in the State recorded maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius today.

Four places in the State had maximum temperature above 41 degrees Celsius today, the Regional Meteorological Centre said.

Bhubaneswar and Titlagarh were the hottest places with maximum temperature at 41.5 degrees Celsius.

Bolangir recorded 41.2 degrees Celsius followed by Bariapda at 41 degrees Celsius. Chandbali and Angul were at 40.7 degrees each.

Other places that recorded 40 degrees and above are: Talcher – 40.5 degrees Celsius, Boudh 40.5 degrees Celsius, Malkangiri – 40.2 degrees Celsius, Nayagarh and Paralakhemundi – 40 degrees Celsius each.

Cuttack recorded maximum temperature at 40.1 degrees Celsius today.

The Regional Meteorological Centre further said coastal districts will experience 2-3 degrees above normal temperature. Some other districts of the State are also likely to record 40 degrees or above.
