In a heart breaking incident a twelve-year-old girl died in a district magistrate grievance redressal camp in Dharamshala panchayat in Jajpur district of Odisha .

The deceased Soli Sahu, a heart patient had accompanied her parents, Surendra and Kanak Sahu, who had come here to appeal for funds for her treatment.

Unable to afford treatment of private hospitals, Surendra had decided to take his daughter to a Bangalore based free hospital. To get funds for travelling to Bangalore Surendra and his wife Kanak had brought  Soli to the camp.

The district magistrate had given Rs 4,000 as relief money to the family. But while they were returning the class seven student fell ill and was immediately taken to the Dharamshala hospital where the doctors declared her dead.

“They had initially asked for Red cross fund for treatment, I had immediately given them Rs 4000 financial help. Later,  while they were taking her on the way she fell ill, they brought her back and we referred her to hospital where she was declared dead. According to government rules body has to be sent for post mortem. I will recommend him for chief minister relief fund, said Satya Kumar Mallick Jajpur District Magistrate.
