13 cops among 332 fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A total of 332 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Bhubaneswar city in last 24 hours. As per the data released by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today, 173 positive cases were reported from quarantine centres whereas 159 are local contact cases.

A 50-year-old male from CRPF campus with travel history to Jammu and Kashmir tested positive for the virus.

The data further mentioned 13 fresh positive cases were detected from 7th battalion of police.

An official statement said further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and will be under active surveillance, it added.

So far, the total positive cases were at 7,931 in the city. The number of active cases is at 3,162 whereas 34 patients died of the disease.

Today as many as 163 patients recuperated from the disease in the city taking the recovery count to 4,726.
