Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved at least 13 proposals of different departments in the state.

The Cabinet gave its nod to the bidding process/tender for LED street lighting project with an expenditure of Rs 312.18 crore.

It approved a proposal for allocating Rs 135 crore for information-education-communication (IEC) activities at the gram panchayat and block level during the inauguration of Srimandir Parikrama Project in Puri in January next year. Besides, the state government will provide Rs 20 crore for mobilization of people from block headquarters to Puri on the occasion.

A proposal for organising IEC activities regarding the welfare schemes of the state government at the gram panchayat level with an expenditure of Rs 203.82 crore got the Cabinet approval. Each panchayat in the state will get Rs 3 lakh for this purpose.

The state government has decided to cancel the tender for widening and strengthening of Tomka-Mangalpur road in Jajpur district. A proposal in this regard got the Cabinet approval.

The Cabinet approved the Odisha Industries Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2023 of Micro Small and Medium Enterprise department to regulate the method of recruitment, promotion and conditions of service of the persons appointed to different posts of Odisha Industries Service (OIS) cadre.

The Cabinet also gave its nod to Odisha Information and Public Relations Technical and Non-Technical Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2023.

The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) got the Cabinet nod to procure 200 new electric buses to strengthen urban mobility in and around the capital city.

The state government will create 365 JE posts and 91 AEE posts to strengthen drinking water supply facility in urban areas of the state. The Cabinet approved a proposal in this regard.

A proposal for amendment of the Odisha Fire Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of the Group-C officers) Rules, 2021 got the Cabinet approval.

The state government will allocate 5 acres of land to Public Health Foundation of India for establishment of a permanent campus of Indian Institute of Public Health in Bhubaneswar. A proposal in this regard got the Cabinet nod.

The relaxation in the upper age limit for government jobs in Odisha from 32 years to 38 years will continue for the calendar year 2024. A proposal in this regard was approved by the Cabinet.

The state government has decided to restructure the Odisha Treasury Ministerial Cadre and Odisha Subordinate Finance Service (Treasury Branch) Cadre in the state. The Cabinet gave its approval to a proposal in this regard.

The Odisha Lower Excise Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Assistant Sub-inspector of Excise) Rules, 2023 also got the state Cabinet approval.
