1320 fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Odisha; highest from Ganjam with 560

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha reported 1320 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the  total count to 24,013, informed the Government.

While 887 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 433 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 24  districts- Angul: 6, Balasore: 23, Bargarh: 14, Bhadrak: 28, Balangir: 9, Cuttack: 47, Deogarh: 1, Gajapati: 90, Ganjam: 560, Jagatsinghpur: 3, Jajpur: 23, Jharsuguda: 2, Kalahandi: 1, Kandhamal: 39, Kendrapada: 1, Keonjhar: 24, Khordha: 174, Koraput: 30, Nayagarh: 38, Nuapada: 4, Puri: 90, Rayagada: 65, Sonepur: 1 and  Sundargarh: 47.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 8650. However, 15200 patients have recovered in the state so far.

In the last 24 hours,  12,733 swab sample were tested. So far 4,46,311 tests have been conducted in the state.
