Bhubaneswar: As many as 1499 more persons in the state tested positive for deadly coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the total count to 31,877, said Health and Family Welfare Department today.
While 914 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 585 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.
The fresh cases have been reported from 29 districts with highest being reported from Ganjam district (368).Â

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 11,918. While 19,745 patients have recovered in the state so far. Meanwhile, 177 patients have so far succumbed to the virus.
The state conducted highest 14,335 COVID-19 tests in the last 24 hours. So far 5,14, 573 samples have been tested in the state.
